The South Australian Aboriginal Sports Training Academy is a centre for excellence in Indigenous sports and learning.
SAASTA is an initiative of the SA Government 's Social Inclusion Unit and is managed by the Department of Education and Children's Service based at Para West Adult Campus, SAASTA caters for students who want to make a career from their sporting pursuits, either as professional athletes or as professionals working in the sporting arena.
Our fully qualified coaches, teachers and support staff are committed to ensuring that you are able to make the most of every opportunity. Our high level of flexibility with the delivery of our sports orientated program means that we maintain a practical focus with a highly individualised approach.
Our vision is Tirkandi Mukandi Mukarta – learning to play smart. By learning to play smart, young people will have the opportunity to achieve their goals and lead healthy, successful lives. The students will become role models to other young Aboriginal children and young people within their communities, providing inspiration to achieve their best through sports and education.
