Different laptops have different ideal uses. Gaming laptops that are overloaded with graphics processing and video streaming technology will be far from ideal as work laptops for example. Obviously, if you’re a games developer then it might be the perfect choice but generally speaking, you should be looking for something different when you are shopping around for work laptops.
Process power and RAM are important because these will enable you to multitask. Using multiple applications at once is very draining on your average computer and if you don’t pick a model that allows for this then you might find your computer freezes and you struggle to use certain software applications. Ultimately this means a drop in productivity and, eventually, a trip to the computer shop to upgrade your laptop or replace it with a more appropriate one.
Also think about the software you will use. If you use Word, Excel, and business favourite PowerPoint on a regular basis then look for models that include Microsoft Office installations because it will usually work out cheaper this way than buying the software separately. However, with that said, don’t miss out on a bargain simply for this reason because you can buy the software separately if needs be.
